Weald Park to Brentwood

History

The golf course opened in June 1994 under its original name, Weald Park Golf Club. It was designed by Reg Plumbridge, a local golf architect, and constructed to a modern specification by Golf Landscapes Ltd. Additional layout and design work on the course is by Russell Phillips.

In November 2013 local businessman Mike Seabrook purchased the course and immediately renamed it Brentwood Golf Club.

Investment in the course

The first project was to restore every bunker on the course: emptying, cleaning, draining and refilling each one with new tour quality sand.

Over the first three years of Mike Seabrook's ownership more than £700,000 was spent directly on upgrading the course: fairway drainage was added, seven new white tees were built, a major new water hazard was added at the 6th green, strategically lengthening the course, 50 established trees were moved, several new tree plantations were planted, all-weather tee mats were installed, and the single biggest project yet was an 18 hole buggy path.

Facilities

The Spike Bar has been completely refurbished. It was made larger by removing the partition wall and opening up the two rooms, then completely redecorated to make it more accommodating and relaxing.

A brand new, fully functional kitchen with a chef provides breakfast and lunch menus.

The men's changing rooms have been enlarged, with new showers, toilets and a disabled facility.

The club has invested in the latest electric buggies, fitted with full GPS, ball and club washers and rain canopies.
